Clipper Race finish
The first Belgian sailor to successfully complete a crewed round-the-world race as skipper.
With his international team of 24 sailors, Gaëtan finished 4th overall after 11 months of racing, covering 40,000 miles, stages on every continent, and a hurricane during the North Pacific crossing.
Almost unknowned in France but famous in English-speaking countries, the Clipper Race is a demanding race whose skippers are selected after a long selection process.
Champagne on the podium!
Several leg podiums were achieved, including the South Atlantic.
A difficult leg between Uruguay and Cape Town, due to major rudder problems, but the effort always pays off!
Our Garmin team achieved a podium finish with a solid 3rd place.
Class40 « Be The Drop ! »
Attempting the record for a solo non-stop round-the-world trip via the 3 Great Capes.
After several years of preparation, the Covid crisis forced the partner to abandon the project.
Gaëtan unfortunately had to sell his boat.
Pro crew on GLISS superyacht
Since returning from Australia, Gaëtan has continued to sail on monohull and multihull sailboats of all sizes, both racing and delivering.
He is at ease in all positions, whether on Class40s or superyachts, such as crew member during the Porto Cervo Maxi Rolex Cup aboard the superyacht GLISS.
